A fistula is an infected tunnel that runs from the epidermis to the anus, the muscular orifice at the end of the digestive tract. The majority of anal fistulas are caused by an infection in an anal gland that spreads to the skin. The anus is the external orifice through which feces are ejected from the body. Just inside the anus are a number of small glands that create mucus. These glands can become clogged and infected at any time, resulting in an abscess. In around half of these abscesses, a fistula can occur. Anus symptoms include pain, swelling, and blood or pus discharge. Discomfort zones: the rectum "Discharge" or "bleeding" is what the term anal signifies. There is also a lot of perianal edema. Surgery is frequently used to repair anal fistulas. The surgery is performed by a colon and rectal surgeon. The goal of the treatment is to achieve a balance between eliminating the fistula and preserving the anal sphincter muscles, which could lead to incontinence if harmed.
